A challenge to entertainers...
Through my association with Musicians On Call, the national association of musicians who perform free at hospitals, I am empowered to lengthen my stride in bringing smiles to the faces of those who are not able to go to a theater to enjoy a show. In addition to the free shows I've been performing in nursing homes, schools, and assisted-living villages, there are over 200 children's hospitals in North America, and my hope is to get to as many as possible, as soon as possible. Now I am extending a challenge to you, my entertainer friends across America, to spread some cheer at hospitals, nursing homes, assisted-living villages and schools, whenever you can, and wherever you are. Then please write to me with the accounts of your experience, or better yet, send a link to the video created at the event. And when you get the chance, show someone how to do what you do, whether it's playing a guitar, harmonica, flute, or singing. You'll be walking on air after each performance, that's a promise. Talents were meant to be shared!
Thanks, in advance, for accepting my challenge.

The Empowering Effect of Conventions
Besides performing at conventions, I've been an attendee of many such events over the years because the effect is so very empowering. Meeting new colleagues with similar interests and mutual goals has always proved to be stimulating to my creativity and motivation.
The depth and breadth of information never fails to give my brain a much needed re-charge. Now I find myself in the Mecca of conventions and grand events -- Orlando! I particularly delight at the happy attitudes of people at the conventions, and they make wonderful participants in the fun (and funny) segments of my interactive shows.
So, if you are considering if it would be worth it to attend a special event or convention... take my advice -- go! You'll be glad you did.
Those close to me know that I am also empowered by the income I receive performing, as it helps fund the free events I enjoy doing at schools, hospitals, libraries and nursing homes.
I look forward to playing all of the food-related events, as well as all the other events where a sit-down dinner is part of the festivities, so I hope to meet you at your next event in Orlando, and if you have someone in a hospital or nursing home in the Orlando area, please send me their name and location if you'd like me to stop by and perform to put a smile on their faces.
In the meantime, please remember to empower someone today with your thoughtful words and deeds.
God bless!
